Dawn of a new era...
Over the course of my first six years of driving I laid claim no
less than eight different vehicles. One I wrecked. One threw a
rod. One died of old age. Two were lemons. The rest were temporary
transportation. On February 27, 2004, my history with cars took
a dramatic turn. Having searched for many months my next car of
choice, I held my breath and wrote a large down payment check,
an irreversible commitment. Whereas before I had looked for cars
that were good, this time I stopped at nothing short of excellence.
While before I always looked for older vehicles to save cash up
front, on this day I drove off a dealer's lot with a car that
had only six miles on the odometer and no previous owners on its
record.
